Welcome to F.A.R.R. or Farming and Ranching in Righteousness. We are a non-profit group dedicated to helping people raise food, animals and live more effectively. We are sponsored by the Y.C.N.A. or Yavashuan Christian New Amish church. We are a non-profit 501.c.3 charity organization as permitted by the IRS since 1989 and a "religious" mission church since 1999. I suppose we should explain what the name YCNA means. "Yavashuan Christian" simply means "true-name-of-Christ Christian". New Amish means we are a new Amish-like group based on the original 1500's confession of faith (see other Amish websites for complete printout of this). Like the Beachy Amish we are evangelical, that is we go out and try to teach everybody about us. Unlike other Amish sub-groups, we use horses whenever possible but do drive cars and trucks to work if we must. We wear any non-flashy modest clothing for men and women, long skirts or dresses when in public, anything comfortable when working outdoors not in public view, head covering for women and girls optional. We do desire our dress to reflect an inner personal piety, dignity, and grace. Clothes that would inflame the opposite sex are to be left behind when one joins the church. We are full gospel, believing in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, full water baptism, and in the equality of the call of both men and women to preach and witness. We worship at home or in other buildings on the true Sabbath from Friday evening at sunset to Saturday evening at sunset. This leaves one free to attend other churches on Sunday or any other day of the week. People of all races and backgrounds are welcome. People who have been previously divorced for good reasons are considered. Jesus (Yavashua) said for one to go his or her way and to sin no more. In this we differ from all other Amish groups.

Is it time to become Amish in our ways of farming and ranching or other aspects of life? I'm not talking here about becoming religious or backwards in thought. The idea here is about having a light footprint on the planet and a healthy, more affordable lifestyle. The Amish farm and ranch organically without poisons. They do not use genetically engineered plants or animals which can make humans and animals that consume these things sick. Maybe worse than just sick. F.A.R.R. or Farming and Ranching in Righteousness is about raising our food and fiber by God's laws given in the Bible which, by the way, just happen to work better for us humans and for the planet. This is what this website is going to be all about, ways to live that are smart and actually work better. It is also about living in freedom for people all over the earth. More about that in later posts.
Here is lesson #1 about using genetically engineered seed, plants, or animals. In the Ten Commandments given in the Bible one of the commandments states simply "Do not commit adultery." Everyone pretty much thinks that means do not have sex with anyone other than one's own husband or wife. It means much more than just that. People think that society in the time of Noah and the ark was a primitive society where people scratched out a living and got around on foot or on donkeys, mules and horses, camels, etc. According to Pastor David J. Smith in Waxahatchie, Texas and the Book of Enoch which is mentioned in the Bible but not included, civilization during the time of Noah was actually fairly advanced. People were doing what amounted to genetic engineering back then and crossing DNA of animals and plants that God never intended to be crossed. The people were creating monsters and impure versions of animals. Mythology described centaurs (half man and half horse), satyrs (half man and half goat) and other beings which were a mix of animals and/or humans which cannot reproduce in nature. There are also a few mentions of "the sons of God" intermarrying with human women and producing giants or other impure semi-humans. The "sons of God" are by some pastors thought to refer to the fallen angels who "left their first estate" which would have been heaven and decided human women were too attractive to pass up. It is said only Noah and his family were still of pure human descent. God, Yahweh, therefore decided to destroy the planet with water except for Noah and his family and a representative group of "pure" animals.
According to reports from a Christian radio station near Temple, Texas, scientists who are Christians from all over the world are petitioning against governments making of "chimeras" which means combinations of different species of animals that "Mother Nature" does not make, that do not occur in nature. Places where chimeras have been sighted include the 4 Corners area of the United States, Montauk in New York State, Italy, Australia, and in Great Britain. As I recall, over seven locations on the planet were named as places where this "horrible science" was being done. They spoke the locations too fast for me to write it all down. In Italy, a bird with an over thirty foot wing span has been sighted on numerous occasions. If humans did not learn a lesson from the Great Flood of Noah where mankind was pretty much wiped out once, the Bible promises the earth will be scourged with fire this time around. As Forrest Gump said in the movie ,"Stupid is as stupid does."
A message to farmers and ranchers all over the world. To farm and ranch in righteousness is to farm and ranch in obedience to God's laws, not by ignoring these laws. Please do not use genetically engineered seed, plants, or animals. Try to find naturally produced, old fashioned seeds and pure strains of plants and animals. I'm not talking about plant hybrids and animal hybrids produced by normal breeding processes here. I'm talking about irradiated seeds and plants and animals produced by DNA extraction and rearrangement in laboratories. Before I became New Amish, during a part of my life I worked in Texas medical schools as a biologist and biochemist. Part of that time was spent in DNA research labs. In one of those labs, DNA fragments we had isolated from mice and E. coli made a number of us deathly ill. What we were working with was supposedly harmless, but a number of people were made sick for a very long time. Some of the scientists and their children who were working with this "harmless material" ended up physically disabled, because people must have unknowingly carried tiny microscopic bits of material home on their clothes. "Do not commit adultery" is not a law of God meant to punish us. It is a law God made for our own good and for the good of this planet.
